“40 years of Studco! What an amazing story, and what a privilege to be part of Studco in 2026.
Since 1986 Studco has been ‘leaning in’ to hear about our customers’ problems. Since Gordon Stevens brought a laser level from the USA to Australia to install perfectly level ceilings, Studco has been finding ways to build better internal walls, ceilings and openings.
In the early days Studco was focused on wall and ceiling framing but could see a need for a door jamb that could integrate seamlessly with the wall without the need for traditional architraves. The EzyJamb door opening was born, evolving from a single innovation into the EZ Concept range. Today, this suite of products delivers modern flush finishes across doors, windows, openings, recesses, and more. Architects seeking refined, modern interiors finally had a solution that brought their design vision to life, while builders embraced a product that was practical and efficient to install.
Knowing these products and ideas were too good to keep in Australia, in 2006 Gordon took his ideas to New York state and set-up Studco USA. Both businesses strengthened year on year thanks to the loyal support of customers who partnered with Studco for the long term.
In 2016, Studco identified a challenge in high-rise buildings that creaked. The Studco team set out to discover the root cause and develop a solution. The result was Vortex.
Ten years later, Vortex has been installed in more than 77 high-rise towers around the world, helping over 32,000 apartment residents enjoy quieter buildings. Its proven performance has earned the trust of some of the world’s most prestigious builders across Australia, the UK, and the US. For many, Vortex is the only system they specify because they know it works.
As we celebrate 40 years of innovation with a truly exceptional team, I’m proud to be part of this journey as we continue to turn challenges into solutions and can’t wait to see what problem we solve next.
